In 2006 it was decided to expand the Memorial Garden to the West. Designs for the new garden were drawn up to incorporate a Memorial Wall, Picnic Area, Pagoda and raised bedded area.
 
With the help of grants from North Lanarkshire Council, work was soon started on the new garden. It was important that this new extension to the garden, did not look like an after thought. Thankfully with the help of good designing and building, the new part of the garden was soon built, and looked like an original part of the garden
